The editor in Chief:
In your editorial June 3 "when States punish women," you call law Indiana except taxpayer funding of "dangerous" family planning, saying that it will be to "punish thousands of women to low-income Medicaid."
I disagree. The Act simply says taxpayers can go to any entity that performs abortions. No Medicaid benefit is modified, or access is denied.
In fact, according to the Indiana family and Social Services Administration, in 21 counties affected by the Act, there are approximately 800 supplier qualifying locations to provide Medicaid services nonabortion customers.
By proposing to cut all Medicaid the Indiana funding, it is the administration of Obama which is dangerously acting by putting at risk the health of women. The administration of Obama should respect the will of the Hoosiers and let them manage their own Medicaid program.
